In the last twenty-five years I have written a number of programs
that perform algorithmic music composition;
this is a sample of that work (excerpted from a program written in 1986)
for your amusement and possibly edification.
When you click on either of the MIDI buttons below,
a small suite of programs will compose some generic boogie-woogie
(of the R 'n' R variety) and express the result as MIDI data.
If you have a MIDI synthesizer (or two, or three) attached to your
computer, or if you have a MIDI plug-in (like Quicktime Instruments)
on your web browser, you can play them back.
(not for the faint of heart . . .)
